More About Dr. Batson:
Dr. Ramon Batson was born and raised on the Island of Aruba. He moved to the US to attend Brooklyn Technical High School. After graduating, he attended Harvard University where he majored in the History of Science and Genetics, graduating with Honors. He then attended medical school at the Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY where he developed his interest in clinical neurosciences. He finished his courses within 3 years. He spent the fourth year traveling across the US working in a number of neurosurgical programs.
After graduating from Upstate, Dr. Batson decided to move back to Boston where he completed his residency at Tufts University. He initially intended to complete a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at Childrens’ Hospital in Toronto. Before starting this program, Dr. Batson met Dr. Shahid who convinced him to move to Connecticut and join Neurosurgical Associates of Southwestern CT in July of 1986.

Dr. Batson is President of the Connecticut Neurosurgical Society. He is also very actively involved in several of the National Neurosurgical Societies. In 1992 he received the Magida Award from the Fairfield County Medical Association for outstanding patient care. Dr. Batson holds the position of Cheif of Neurosurgery at Norwalk Hospital.
Dr. Batson and his wife Iris live in Redding, CT where they enjoy spending time with their two standard poodles, Apollo and Zeus. He enjoys traveling when he can and he’s also a musician who plays bass guitar.
