Acute Ischemic Stroke Intervention at Danbury Hospital

The comprehensive stroke programs at Danbury and Norwalk Hospitals have been utilizing cutting edge technology, and thanks to everyone’s hard work and dedication it has produced tremendous results. With increased public awareness of stroke symptoms, patients have been able to arrive to the hospital and receive the treatment they need in a timely manner.

A recent patient arrived to the emergency room with symptoms of a dominant hemisphere stroke. The patient was evaluated, diagnosed and the blood clot was removed within 2 hours of the patient’s stroke symptoms. The patient was then discharged in 48 hours with complete normal function and back to work within a week. Thanks to not only the hospital staff involved, but the community’s awareness in recognizing this patients need for further medical attention.
